Rough idling... now that you mention it, yes, sometimes it feels a bit shaky. Power loss, hard to say for sure, but it doesn't feel as responsive as it used to. VANOS solenoid, eh? Is that a pricey fix? And how did you know it was that?

Sounds very familiar. It ended up being a defect in one of the camshaft solenoid valves, which caused my VANOS mechanics to be faulty. I recommend taking it to a trusted workshop. Could be the same issue, and ignoring it might cause bigger problems down the road.

I had something similar happen with my GS! Higher fuel consumption and the check engine light were the first signs. Could be a VANOS solenoid issue. Have you noticed any rough idling or loss of power?
