Thanks! No, I haven't noticed any rough idling, just the reduced power and increased fuel consumption. So, it was definitely the MAP sensor for you? Anything else it could be, or is that the prime suspect?

Yeah, for me it was definitely the MAP sensor. A large vacuum leak can also cause similar problems, because it will mess with the pressure readings. Honestly, given your symptoms, I’d bet money on it. I'd suggest getting it checked at a workshop. It's probably a quick sensor replacement.

Alright, I appreciate the advice! I took it to the shop, and you were spot on. It was indeed the manifold pressure sensor. They found a large vacuum leakage, which led to sensor failure. Replaced it, and the total cost came to around 235€. The car is running smoothly again. Thanks!

I had something like that happen with my Groove too. Same symptoms, check engine light and all. The manifold pressure sensor, also called a MAP sensor, tells the engine computer how much air is going into the engine. If that signal is off, the car doesn't know how much fuel to add, which throws everything out of whack. Did you notice any rough idling too?
