Chevrolet Groove Overvoltage Errors
Summary of the thread
A 2021 Chevrolet Groove was experiencing electrical issues, including overvoltage errors and system failures, with a weak battery during startup. The problem was suspected to be caused by a heavily discharged or defective battery, potentially leading to alternator overcompensation. After replacing the defective battery, the overvoltage errors were resolved, indicating the battery was the core issue.

I haven't measured the alternator output directly. Where exactly should I measure that, and what voltage range should I expect to see on my Chevy Groove?

Check voltage directly at the alternator's output terminal while the engine is running. You should see around 14V, definitely not exceeding 15V. Since you're getting overvoltage errors and experiencing these symptoms, it's best to take it to a trusted workshop before more damage occurs. It looks like your car's computer could be damaged.

Thanks for the advice. It turned out to be a defective battery causing the alternator to overcompensate. Replaced the battery, and all the overvoltage errors are gone now. Total cost was 290€ including the new battery and diagnostic. Appreciate the help!

Sounds like a bad alternator, potentially fried your ECU. An overvoltage situation can definitely cause a cascade of issues. Have you measured the voltage output of the alternator? What voltage are you seeing when the car is running?
