Chevy N400 high fuel consumption and stalling

I've got a 2018 Chevy N400 with a gasoline engine that's giving me some headaches. It's got 162,156 km on it. Lately, I've noticed my fuel consumption is way up, and the engine sometimes stalls when I'm idling. Plus, the check engine light is on, and I'm seeing some smoke when I accelerate. I'm thinking it might be the mass air flow (MAF) sensor. Anyone else run into this?

Summary of the thread

A 2018 Chevy N400 with high fuel consumption and stalling issues was experiencing increased fuel usage, engine stalling at idle, a check engine light, and smoke during acceleration. The suspected cause was a faulty mass air flow (MAF) sensor. After replacing the MAF sensor, the vehicle's performance improved, resolving the issues.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Sounds familiar. I had similar issues with my N400. Check your air intake, could be a dirty MAF sensor messing with the air-fuel ratio. Is your performance down too?

Yeah, the performance has definitely taken a hit. Feels sluggish. How did you figure out it was the MAF sensor for sure? Did you try cleaning it or just replace it?

Didn't bother cleaning it, just replaced it. Same symptoms. If you have the same, I would suggest going to the workshop to check it out. In my case it was the MAF and the repair cost was 365€

Thanks for the info! I appreciate the help. Took it to the shop, and you were right, it was the MAF sensor. Replaced it, and everything's running smoothly again.
