CHR climate control panel dead
Summary of the thread
A 2018 Toyota CHR is experiencing a dead climate control panel, with heating issues and a non-functional AC. Diagnostics suggest a potential problem with cables or plugs. A similar issue was resolved by checking and possibly repairing loose or corroded electrical connectors, particularly those related to the climate control unit, temperature sensor, and blower motor. If uncomfortable with electrical work, seeking professional assistance is recommended.

Thanks for the tip! Which connectors specifically did you check? And was your AC also not switching on?

Yes, the AC wouldn't engage at all. It was a real pain, especially during summer! As for the connectors, trace the wiring harness from the climate control panel itself. There's usually a main connector block behind the dashboard. Honestly, it's a bit of a pain to get to, and if you're not comfortable with electrical work, it might be worth getting it checked by a professional. In the end I paid 95€ for the repair at my local garage. It was worth it to have working AC again!

Thanks a lot! I appreciate the help. I'll probably take it to a workshop then.

I had a similar problem with my Toyota CHR. I would check the electrical connectors going to the climate control unit. Sometimes they can get loose or corroded. Also, check the temperature sensor and blower motor connections. Is the error stored in the error memory?
