CHR Communication Error

My 2016 Toyota CHR hybrid is throwing a curveball. It's got 111693 km and I'm getting a control unit communication error. Symptoms include engine overheating, check engine light, and coolant spill under the car, leading me to believe there's excessive pressure in the cooling system. I suspect a dodgy cable or plug connection somewhere. Anyone seen anything similar? I've checked the usual suspects – fuses, coolant level, and visually inspected the wiring harness as best I can without tearing everything apart. Any thoughts before I start ripping interior trim out looking for a CAN bus issue?

Yeah, it's logging a U0100 code – lost communication with ECM/PCM 'A'. Does that jive with what you experienced on your Volvo? Where was the faulty connection located on yours?

The U0100 code definitely sounds like the same problem. On my Volvo, they suspected a software glitch at first, but after hours, the workshop found corrosion in a connector near the data link. I’d suggest taking it to a reputable workshop, they will probably solve it faster than you.

Thanks for the insight! Sounds like I'm chasing a similar gremlin. I'll take it to a shop, let them diagnose the CAN bus properly. They found a faulty plug connection and replaced it for 95€. Hopefully, this fixes it. Appreciate the help!
