CHR Defrost Air Distribution Flap Issue

Experiencing an issue with my 2022 Toyota CHR electric. The defrost air distribution flap seems faulty. I'm getting an error stored and the heating output is noticeably low. I suspect a defective cable or plug connection. Anyone encountered something similar?

That sounds frustrating. Low heat output is the worst, especially this time of year. Did you check the blend door actuator? Sometimes those things get stuck or the linkage breaks. Also, have you tried recalibrating the HVAC system? I've seen that fix some weird air distribution issues. Let me know if you've already tried that.

Thanks for the suggestions! I haven't tried recalibrating the HVAC system. How would I go about doing that on a CHR? And where exactly is the blend door actuator located? Is it easily accessible?

Okay, recalibrating the HVAC usually involves a specific sequence of button presses or a scan tool. The exact procedure for your CHR should be in the owner's manual or easily found online. As for the blend door actuator, it's usually buried up under the dashboard panel, somewhere near the heater core. Honestly, given the error code and the fact that it's a relatively new car, I'd consider taking it to a trusted workshop. It might save you a lot of headache. Sounds like a potential warranty issue. A faulty cable or plug connection, as you suspect, would definitely cause those symptoms.

Thanks for the advice. I checked the manual and couldn't find the recalibration procedure. I took it to the workshop as you suggested. Turns out it was indeed a loose connection on the air distribution flap. Repair cost was 95€. Appreciate the help!
