CHR Fuel Injection Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2020 Toyota CHR with a gasoline engine is experiencing increased fuel consumption, reduced engine power, occasional stalling, and white smoke from the exhaust. These symptoms suggest a potential fuel injection issue, possibly due to a faulty connection within the injection system. The problem was resolved by inspecting and repairing a defective cable or plug connection, which was confirmed by a workshop visit.

I don't have a code reader. In your case with the Opel Astra, were there any specific components or areas that were the source of the problem? The engine light is on.

The engine light being on is a clear sign. In my Astra's case, it was a faulty connection within the injection system. After diagnosis the mechanic found that a cable or plug connection of the component was defective. Given your symptoms and the engine light, I'd recommend having a workshop inspect the system thoroughly. Ignoring it could lead to further, more costly damage.

Thanks so much for sharing your experience and suggesting the workshop. I took your advice and brought the CHR to a workshop. It was exactly as you pointed out, a defective cable/plug connection. The repair cost was 95€. Many thanks again.

Your symptoms do sound like a fuel injection issue. I had something similar with my 2016 Opel Astra diesel. Increased fuel consumption, loss of power – very frustrating. Did you try reading the error codes? Are there any warning lights?
