CHR hybrid oil pressure warning

Hi, I own a 2019 Toyota CHR hybrid, mileage is at 61270 km. Recently the oil pressure warning lamp lights up and there are some loud mechanical noises from the engine. Could this be related to the engine oil? Any ideas?

Hello. I also own a CHR hybrid, and your problem sounds very familiar to me. I also got the oil pressure warning and strange noises. Did you check the oil level or maybe consider an oil change? What oil viscosity are you using?

Thanks for your reply. I checked the oil level, and it seems fine. I did an oil change 3 months ago. I'm using 0W-20 engine oil. What was the issue in your case?

Yes, that's it! The same symptoms, and it turned out to be a defect in the oil pump. I suggest that you go to a workshop to get it checked. In my case, they had to replace the oil pump, which cost around 755€. Better to be safe than sorry.
