Yeah, I scanned it. Got a bunch of codes related to the BUS system, but nothing specific. Was yours the same, a bunch of vague communication errors?

Exactly! Turns out it was a faulty cable connection to one of the control units. Apparently, it messes with the whole BUS. Eventually I had to take it to a workshop because I do not have the right tools to troubleshoot the harness. I hope it's the same for you

Thanks for the insight! Took it in, and you were spot on. Bad cable connection to the control unit. Repair was 155€. Appreciate the help!

Sounds familiar. I've got a CHR, though unsure of the year, and had similar weirdness. Check engine light was on and off, radio would die, that kind of thing. Did you use a scan tool to check for error codes yourself?
