CHR transmission issue

I've got a 2017 Toyota CHR hybrid with 183575 km. Transmission and check engine lights are on. The automatic transmission seems stuck in emergency mode, not shifting smoothly, feels like it's slipping, and I'm hearing grinding noises. Scanner says radiator oil pressure issue. Could this be a faulty oil cooler or a bad connection? Anyone else run into this?

I had something similar happen with my CHR. The symptoms sound familiar – especially the slipping and the lights. I’d check the cable and plug connections to the oil cooler first. Could save you time and money. Did you check for any leaks?

Thanks for the tip! When you say check the connections, are you talking about the ones on the radiator itself or near the transmission? Also, did your scanner specifically mention the radiator oil pressure?

Yeah, the connections near the radiator, specifically to the oil cooler lines. And yes, the scanner gave me a similar error about the oil pressure. After checking the connections, I still had issues and ended up taking it to a workshop. They found a bad connection and sorted it out quickly.

Appreciate the info! I checked the connections like you suggested, but no luck. So, I took it to my local mechanic, and it turned out to be a defective cable connection like we suspected. Repair cost me 95€. Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction!
