CHR Transmission Issues
Summary of the thread
A 2016 Toyota CHR with 84,408 km is experiencing transmission issues, including implausible shifting, a transmission indicator light, and emergency mode activation. The problem is linked to undervoltage and worn-out transmission oil. A suggested solution is to have the transmission oil changed and the system reset by a professional, which resolved similar issues for another owner.

Exactly! Rough shifting between 2nd and 3rd is spot on. Did yours go into emergency mode too? What did you end up doing about it?

Yep, emergency mode happened a few times. I took it to a workshop, and they confirmed the low voltage damaged the transmission oil. They changed the oil and reset the system. I'd get yours checked out by a professional.

Thanks for the advice. I took it to my local shop, and you were right! The oil was indeed gone. New oil and a system reset, and it cost me about 240€. Runs like new now!

Sounds familiar. I have a CHR, and I had similar transmission problems. Was the shifting generally rough, especially between 2nd and 3rd?
