Chrysler 300 Climate Control Failure Fix Guide

Dealing with the exact same sensor diagnostics issues on my 300. Just had the 25K service done last month. After checking the fuses and trying basic troubleshooting, my temperature control system also failed completely. The temperature reading shows nothing on the display now. Running the sensor diagnostics revealed error code P0532. Tried cleaning the connections but no luck with the climate regulation system. Sounds like replacing the sensor assembly might be the fix, but wanted to know the typical repair cost before heading to the shop. Thanks for sharing your experience, good to know it might just be a wiring issue vs a complete system replacement. Any chance you remember if the recalibration process needed special equipment? The temperature sensor seems like a fairly simple part but wondering about programming requirements.

Thanks for the follow-up. Based on what you described with error code P0532 and no temperature reading, this definitely sounds like the exact temperature sensor issue I dealt with. The recalibration after my sensor replacement did require dealer-level diagnostic equipment to properly sync the new temperature sensor with the climate control module. I initially considered doing the sensor replacement myself since the part was only around 45€, but the programming requirements made me decide against it. The complete repair process involved: Replacing the faulty temperature sensor, Testing the new sensor connection, Recalibrating the temperature control system, Clearing the stored error codes For the full sensor replacement and recalibration, my total repair ended up being 95€. But costs can vary depending on labor rates and whether any additional wiring repairs are needed. My issue was just the connector, but if the wiring harness needs replacement that could push the cost higher. If your symptoms match mine with the blank temperature reading and P0532 code, I would expect a similar repair cost range for the sensor replacement and programming. The sensor issues were completely resolved after the repair and the temperature control system has worked perfectly since then.

Hey thanks so much for all the details! This really helps me plan for the repair. Based on your experience, I will definitely take it to a shop that has the right diagnostic equipment for the sensor recalibration. The 95€ cost seems reasonable considering both parts and programming are needed. I just checked again and its definitely throwing that same P0532 code, with identical symptoms, no temperature reading and climate regulation completely dead. Good to hear your temperature control has worked perfectly since the repair. Pretty confident now that I just need the sensor replacement and recalibration rather than a full system replacement. Will schedule an appointment this week and make sure they know about checking the wiring harness along with the temperature sensor itself. Really appreciate you walking me through your experience with such a similar issue. Fingers crossed my repair bill stays close to what you paid!

I had a nearly identical issue with my 2014 Chrysler 200 last summer, and I have some experience working on basic car repairs. The temperature sensor and climate control problems you describe match what I encountered. The temperature reading was completely off, and the HVAC sensor stopped communicating with the climate regulation system. Initially, I tried cleaning the sensor connections myself, but that didnt solve it. Took it to a workshop where they diagnosed a faulty connection between the temperature sensor and the main climate control unit. The repair involved replacing a damaged wiring connector and recalibrating the HVAC sensor. Total cost was 95€ for parts and labor. Before you take it in, check if all fuses related to the climate control system are intact. Also, verify if the problem occurs in both AC and heat modes, as this helps narrow down the issue. To provide more specific guidance, could you share: Does the display show any temperature reading at all? Are you getting any specific error codes? Does the blower motor still work on manual settings? Have you noticed any electrical issues with other systems?
