Cima rough running and stalling
Summary of the thread
A 2017 Nissan Cima hybrid was experiencing rough running, stalling at idle, and jerking during acceleration, with the check engine light on. The initial suspicion was a defective ignition coil, possibly due to loose or corroded connections. After inspection and repair, it was confirmed that the ignition coil and cable connection were the issues, leading to a successful resolution of the problem.

Thanks for the reply! When you say 'loose enough', do you mean visibly damaged or just not fully clicked in? I'm hesitant to start replacing parts without being sure. Did you also experience stalling at idle?

No visible damage on mine, just not fully clicked in and maybe a bit corroded. That was enough to cause misfires. And yeah, the stalling at idle was the worst part! If you're unsure, I'd suggest getting it checked at a workshop. They can pinpoint the exact coil.

Thanks a lot for your help! I took your advice and got it checked out. Turns out it was a defective ignition coil, just like we suspected, and the cable connection was indeed the issue. The whole repair set me back 95€. Runs like a dream now!

CIMA

Hey, I have a Cima too, although I'm not sure of the exact year. I had similar symptoms a while back – rough running and the check engine light. It might be the ignition coil pack. Are you sure the connections are good? Mine looked fine, but one was loose enough to cause problems.
