Thanks for the tip! When you say 'steering wheel controls', do you mean inside the steering wheel, or where the cruise control stalk is? Was there anything specific you had to do to fix it?

Yes, inside the steering wheel. The connection was indeed defective as you suspected. I'd advise against attempting a repair yourself unless you're experienced with car electronics. A workshop will be able to diagnose and fix the defective cable or plug connection. It cost me about 95€ for the repair.

I had a similar problem with my Citan. Check the steering wheel controls and the wiring leading to them. A loose connection there can cause the cruise control to become non-functional.
