Citan Diesel Engine Overheating Issue

My 2021 Mercedes Citan diesel engine is overheating with the check engine light on at 177040 km Could a faulty speed sensor cause this I checked the fan blade for obstructions but it is clear Has anyone else had radiator fan or fan motor issues

I had a similar experience with my Citan, also a diesel The overheating and check engine light are concerning In my case, the radiator fan was the problem Have you checked the fan motor itself Sometimes it's not the speed sensor directly, but the motor failing to respond When the engine temperature rises, does the fan try to start, or is it completely still It could also be a faulty relay You should check this first to be sure

Thank you When the engine temperature rises, the fan is completely still How do I check the fan motor or the relay I’m not experienced with car repairs, so specific instructions would be great Also, where is the relay

Given that the fan isn't starting, it reinforces suspicion of the fan motor or the relay Unless you have auto electrics experience, checking the motor and finding/testing the relay can be tricky You'd need a multimeter Considering potential overheating damage, I suggest a workshop I spent around 250€ for replacement and diagnosis It's peace of mind

Thank you for the advice I appreciate you sharing your experience I'm going to bring the car to a workshop It's better to be safe, especially with potential engine damage at stake I feel more confident in that decision now
