Citan Electric AC Issues

My 2023 Mercedes Citan Electric is driving me nuts! The air conditioning is practically useless, especially for the rear passengers. I've got 47145 km on the clock. Plugged in my OBD reader and it's throwing a 'Rear ventilation flap fault' code. The automatic climate control seems completely haywire, and the HVAC repair is now urgent. It's like the air circulation is stuck or something. Anyone else experienced this?

I had a similar issue with my Vauxhall Astra. The air conditioning would work intermittently, and it turned out to be a faulty connection in the ventilation system. It's like a blocked artery in your car's HVAC system, preventing proper air flow. Did your system diagnostics include checking the wiring harness for any signs of damage or corrosion?

That sounds eerily familiar! You mentioned a faulty connection - did you manage to fix it yourself, or did you have to take it in? I've had a quick look, but those ventilation flaps are buried deep. I'm starting to think I need specialist tools to properly diagnose a potential cable or plug issue, or should I cut my losses and go directly to the workshop?

I opted for the workshop. The technician confirmed the error code, and also found a corroded connector which caused the malfunction of the climate control unit. Given the complexity of the automatic climate system, I figured it was best left to the professionals. It's sometimes better to concede defeat and let them do their thing.

Thanks, that confirms my suspicion. I'm calling the workshop now, but that is not cheap. Turns out, the cable to the ventilation flap was indeed defective. The repair set me back 95€, including system diagnostics and parts. At least the rear passengers can now enjoy some cool air! Thanks again for your help!
