Citan Electric Battery Problem

I've got a problem with my 2023 Mercedes Citan electric engine It's showing a battery malfunction error in the speedometer and the error memory has a related fault stored I've only done 49151 km When I start the car, the battery seems weak, and I've noticed some general electrical malfunctions I suspect it's something to do with the auxiliary battery not charging properly Has anyone experienced this I'm looking at around 290€ for a repair, which seems steep if it's just a low voltage issue

Sounds familiar I had similar battery malfunction issues with my Citan, turned out to be a faulty auxiliary battery The low voltage can cause all sorts of car electronics problems Have you checked the voltage of the auxiliary battery What's the error code stored in the memory

Thanks for the quick reply I haven't checked the voltage myself, I don't have the tools I know it's something to do with auxiliary power Do you know if the error code you got pointed directly to the auxiliary battery, or was it more generic

The error code did point directly to the auxiliary battery in my case Given your symptoms and the error message, it's likely the same issue I'd recommend taking it to a workshop to get it properly diagnosed and replaced Driving with low voltage in the auxiliary system can damage other components

Thanks, appreciate the advice I took it to the workshop, and you were right, it was the auxiliary battery Replaced it for the quoted price 290€, and everything is working fine now Hopefully, this will help anyone else with battery malfunction issues
