Citan engine control unit issue

My 2014 Mercedes Citan with a gasoline engine is showing reduced engine performance. The error memory indicates a defective engine control unit. Diagnostics suggest a defective main relay. The car has about 66139 km on it. ECU repair is estimated at 120€. Has anyone else run into this?

I had similar engine performance issues with my old Opel Astra. Error codes pointed to automotive electronics malfunctioning. Did you check the main relay itself or just go by the computer module diagnostics?

I didn't check it myself. I'm no expert. I took it to a workshop after I started having problems. The workshop confirmed the error and replaced the part. They mentioned it was a common problem with that computer module.
