Citan engine control unit issue
Summary of the thread
A 2014 Mercedes Citan is experiencing reduced engine performance, with diagnostics indicating a defective engine control unit (ECU) and suggesting a faulty main relay as a possible cause. The owner considers ECU repair, estimated at 120€, and seeks advice from others with similar experiences. A suggestion is made to have the main relay checked and possibly replaced at a workshop, as similar issues have been resolved this way in other vehicles.

Thanks for the reply. I've mainly gone by the error code and the car diagnostics report. Can you tell me more about how you checked the main relay on your Opel Astra?

I didn't check it myself. I'm no expert. I took it to a workshop after I started having problems. The workshop confirmed the error and replaced the part. They mentioned it was a common problem with that computer module.

I had similar engine performance issues with my old Opel Astra. Error codes pointed to automotive electronics malfunctioning. Did you check the main relay itself or just go by the computer module diagnostics?
