Citan engine issue resolved

My 2021 Mercedes Citan with a gasoline engine is having issues. The check engine light is on, power is reduced, engine response is sluggish, and fuel consumption is up. Diagnostic scans say the manifold pressure sensor is faulty. Could this be a vacuum leak? Has anyone else seen this? Sensor replacement and labor are about 235€.

I also own a Citan and had similar symptoms. Have you checked the vacuum lines connected to the intake manifold? A cracked or loose hose can act like a faulty manifold sensor.

Thanks, I checked the vacuum lines visually but didn't see anything obvious. Could a small, less visible leak still cause these symptoms and the sensor error code?

A minor leak can cause problems. Get a smoke test to find any vacuum leaks. The sensor might be bad, but a leak test is a good idea.

Thanks for the advice. I took the Citan to a workshop, and a smoke test found a small crack in a vacuum line near the intake manifold. Replacing the line and the manifold sensor fixed it.
