Citan oil pressure warning light issue

Yes, the oil does seem thicker than usual, and slightly sludgy. I'm not sure when the oil filter was last changed, to be honest. I haven't kept meticulous records. Could a simple oil change and new oil filter really be enough to solve it? I'm not very knowledgeable about these things.

Well, I am not a mechanic, and it's best to have a professional look at it. However, it sounds very familiar. In my case, a similar "oil contamination" issue was indeed resolved with just an oil change and a new oil filter. But, given that you are seeing the oil pressure warning light, it's best to have it checked promptly. Don't risk further engine damage. It is always better to be on the safe side.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience! I really appreciate it. I took it to the workshop, and you were right! It turns out the maintenance interval was exceeded, causing oil contamination. An oil change and a new oil filter did the trick. The total repair cost was 165€. I'm so relieved it wasn't anything more serious! Thanks again for your help!

That's not ideal! I also drive a Citan. Does the oil color look unusually thick or sludgy? If so, you might be experiencing something similar to what I encountered. Is the oil filter old? An oil change and new oil filter could potentially resolve the issue. How long ago was your last oil change?
