Citan solar sensor problem and heating malfunction

I'm having a solar sensor issue with my 2018 Mercedes Citan diesel. The error memory keeps logging a fault, and the heating output is noticeably low. I've read that a defective cable or plug connection to the sensor is the likely cause. Has anyone else encountered something similar? The estimated 95€ repair cost seems reasonable for a wiring issue, but am I overlooking something?

I experienced a related problem with my Citan. A faulty daylight sensor can affect other systems. The car's computer might interpret the lack of signal as constant darkness, influencing the heating system's performance. Check the wiring harness first. A corroded connector can restrict the flow of information. Did you check the sensor's voltage?

Thanks for the quick response. Could you elaborate on the best method for checking the sensor's voltage? I'm familiar with using a multimeter, but I'm unsure of the appropriate pins to test on the solar sensor and what readings would indicate a fault.

The correct procedure for testing the voltage requires specific tools and knowledge. Since it affects the heating system, it's best to let a professional look at it. I had to take my car to the workshop. It could save you time and headaches. I hope it helps.

Appreciate the advice. I took it to a workshop as you suggested. It was a faulty connection, just as the initial diagnostics indicated. The 95€ repair cost was accurate, and the heating is now functioning correctly. Thanks again for your help!
