Citan tire pressure warning after flat

My 2014 Mercedes Citan diesel tire pressure warning light is on after a flat I checked the tires and inflated the low one but the error message persists The diagnostic tool shows a tire pressure sensor error Could it be a dead sensor battery

I experienced a similar issue with my Citan The low tire warning persisted despite correct pressure A faulty tire pressure sensor is probable Specifically, the sensor's internal battery life is limited Confirm the air valve integrity Use a pressure gauge for accurate readings before assuming sensor failure

Thanks for the quick reply When you say 'similar issue,' did you also have the error code stored even after inflating the low tire And when you mention air valve integrity, what exactly should I be looking for Just trying to get a clearer picture before I start throwing money at new sensors

Yes, the error code remained even after correcting the low tire situation Regarding the air valve, check for any signs of damage or corrosion which could cause slow leaks, independently of the sensor However, considering the stored error code and the age of the vehicle, a sensor malfunction due to battery depletion seems likely I recommend a workshop visit for confirmation and sensor replacement

Right, I appreciate you confirming that Took it to the workshop as you suggested Turns out the sensor battery was indeed kaput New sensor, plus fitting and balancing came to 280€ At least the warning light's gone now Thanks again for the help
