Citroen C2 Battery Drain
Summary of the thread
A 2006 Citroen C2 with low mileage is experiencing a severely discharged battery, weak and flickering lights, and error messages. The issue is likely due to a parasitic draw, potentially caused by a defective battery sensor. The battery sensor, typically integrated into the negative battery cable, requires specific diagnostic tools for testing. The problem was confirmed and resolved at a workshop, where the battery sensor was replaced.

Thanks for the quick reply! I haven't checked the battery sensor specifically. Where is it usually located, and is it something I can test myself with a multimeter, or do I need special tools?

The battery sensor is typically integrated into the negative battery cable. Testing it requires specific diagnostic tools to read its data stream. Given the symptoms and error codes, and especially because you've already checked the terminals, a defective sensor is the most probable cause. You should get it checked in a workshop.

Thanks! I took it to a workshop as you suggested. They confirmed it was the battery sensor. The repair, including parts and labor, came to 315€. Appreciate the help!

Sounds like a classic case of parasitic draw. Have you checked the battery sensor? A defective sensor can cause excessive discharge even when the car is off. That mileage is very low for the age of the car; has it been sitting unused for extended periods?
