Citroen C2 PTC Heater Problem

Yeah, you're right. It takes ages for the cabin to heat up properly, even after a decent run. The temp gauge does eventually get there, but it's a slow climb. Could a dodgy heater really cause all those problems – rough running and drinking fuel?

Yep, a faulty PTC heater can absolutely cause those symptoms. The engine management system is compensating for the lack of heat, which explains the poor running and increased fuel use. It's like running with the choke on permanently. Given the symptoms and error code, it is very likely the heater. You're probably looking at around 350€ for the repair, I'd take it to a trusted mechanic.

Thanks for the advice! I took it to the workshop, and you were spot on – PTC heater was kaput. They replaced it, and everything's back to normal now. Appreciate the help!

Sounds like your electric auxiliary heater is on the fritz. They're prone to failing, especially with that mileage (231963 km). Does it feel like you're getting cold air even when the engine's warmed up a bit? Does the temperature gauge reach normal levels?
