Citroen C2 Throttle Valve Defect

Hi. My 2004 Citroen C2, diesel, is acting up. Mileage is 230657 km. I think the throttle valve is defective. Higher fuel consumption and it starts poorly. I suspect the accelerator pedal module. Any ideas?

I had similar problems with my C2. The symptoms you describe are very similar to what I experienced when my control valve was playing up. Have you tried cleaning the engine throttle? Sometimes buildup can cause these issues. What about the engine idle? Is it rough?

I haven't tried cleaning it yet. How much effort did it take to do yours, and how did you determine it was indeed the accelerator pedal module in the end?

Cleaning helped a little, but the problem came back. It could be other things, like the throttle position sensor or even air intake issues. I'd suggest taking it to a workshop. They can properly diagnose it. I ended up spending 205€ on the repair.

Thanks, I appreciate the advice. I took it to the workshop and they confirmed the accelerator pedal module was defective. All sorted now.
