Citroen C3 check engine light air valve

Hello, I have a Citroen C3 from 2011 with a gasoline engine. Lately, the check engine light keeps turning on. The car has around 70156 km on it. I haven't noticed any major performance issues, but I'm a little concerned. Could it be related to some air valve malfunction, or something with the air supply? I'm not very familiar with car engines.

Hey! I know exactly what you're talking about, as I had something similar with my C3. The check engine light appeared, and after some investigation, the hose connection from the pump to the air valve was defective. It was like a tiny vacuum leak, messing everything up, like a cracked straw making it hard to drink. Is the engine idling erratically?

That's interesting! I haven't noticed anything specific with the idle, but maybe I just didn't pay attention. You're saying it was just the hose connection? Could that really be it? Where is this air valve located exactly? How is it related to the manifold pressure?

Well, I am no expert, but a defective hose there throws off the air supply and the entire fuel mixture calculation, like an ingredient missing from a recipe. It's a small part, but critical. Honestly, I just took it to a workshop to get it fixed; I'm not that into engines to fix things myself, but based on their description, it fits exactly to my experience and what you are saying. I just remember the mechanic talking about an air valve after he identified the issue. They'll be able to pinpoint it if that's truly the problem!

Okay, thanks a lot for the info! This is really helpful. I'll schedule an appointment with my mechanic and mention the air valve hose connection. Hopefully, it's something simple like that. I received an estimate - the repair, including parts and labor, will be around 175€. I'll let you know what they find.
