Help! My 2015 Citroen C3 diesel is acting up. It's done 164440 km. I've noticed reduced power and a lot of smoke when I accelerate. Could it be the diesel particulate filter?

Sounds like it could be the DPF. When was the last time you had it checked or cleaned? Has the fuel efficiency taken a hit too?

I haven't had it checked recently. Yes, fuel efficiency is worse. Is DPF cleaning worth it, or is replacement the only option?

Given the mileage and the symptoms, cleaning might only be a temporary fix. A defective DPF is likely. I'd recommend a vehicle inspection at a workshop to confirm.

Thanks! Took it to the shop, you were right. DPF was toast. Cost me 1550€ for the filter replacement, but at least it's running normally now.
