Citroen C3 Fault Memory Lock Active
Summary of the thread
A 2004 Citroen C3 diesel displayed a "Fault memory lock active" message, which couldn't be cleared with a generic OBD2 reader. The issue was suspected to be related to control unit problems. It was suggested that undervoltage might be affecting the ECU, leading to the error. The problem was resolved by taking the car to a workshop for ECU diagnostics, where the fault was cleared, confirming the undervoltage issue.

Undervoltage? Interesting! Do you remember what he did? I’m willing to try anything before a shop. Was it a specific sensor? I'm worried it's car electronics.

I don't remember the specifics. He fiddled with wires and mumbled about the control unit needing a reset due to low voltage. I'd take it to a workshop equipped for proper automotive diagnostics, they'll know exactly what to do with the fault codes.

Thanks! I took it to a shop. It was an undervoltage issue. They did ECU diagnostics and cleared the fault. Cost 240€, but it's sorted! I appreciate you pointing me toward undervoltage!

That sounds familiar. I had something similar on my C3. My mechanic mentioned undervoltage screwing with the ECU, but I can't remember the details.
