Citroen C3 Oil Pressure Warning

The oil looks quite dark, almost black. It's also thicker than usual. I can't remember exactly when the oil change happened, but it was definitely longer than the recommended interval. Is it possible that the oil filter is also clogged? Are there any oil additives that could help?

Black and thick oil, combined with exceeding the maintenance interval, strongly indicates oil contamination and filter clogging. Additives might provide a temporary fix, but honestly, with those symptoms, you are better off getting it checked at a workshop. Continuing to drive it could cause serious engine damage.

Thanks for the advice! I took it to a shop, and you were spot on. The engine oil was indeed contaminated and the oil filter clogged due to exceeding the maintenance interval. Got it fixed for 165€. Lesson learned!

Hey there. It definitely sounds like it could be oil-related, especially with those symptoms and your suspicion about exceeding the service interval. What color is the oil when you check the dipstick? Does it look unusually thick, sludgy, or smell burnt? Also, when was the last time the oil and filter were changed?
