Good call on the gas cap, I'll double-check that! I've never had the fuel tank inspected. Where is the purge valve located on a C3? And what's the best way to check for clogged hoses in the EVAP system?

A faulty purge valve or clogged hoses will definitely cause those symptoms. Honestly, without the right tools, checking the EVAP system and locating the valve can be tricky. Given the age and mileage, I'd get it checked out by a workshop. They can diagnose it properly and might save you a lot of hassle. I had similar issues on my old car, and it turned out to be a pain to fix without the proper equipment.

I appreciate the advice. I dropped it off at the shop this morning, and you nailed it – tank ventilation valve, hoses clogged. Cost me 175€, but at least the C3 is purring again!

Sounds like a purge valve issue, especially with the stalling. Have you checked your gas cap? A loose gas cap can sometimes trigger the engine light due to EVAP system issues. Also, when was the last time you had your fuel tank inspected for any blockages?
