Citroen C3 Transmission Issue

Hi, I have a 2005 Citroen C3 diesel with 86512 km. The transmission indicator and check engine light are on. It's stuck in emergency mode and shifts poorly, almost slipping, with grinding noises. Error memory shows a radiator oil pressure defect. Could a defective cable or plug connection really cause this?

Whoa, sounds rough! I had something similar happen with my C3, though not quite as dramatic. Automatic transmission going haywire, lights flashing... Turned out to be a coolant leak messing with the system. Have you checked your coolant level lately? Also, is the cooling fan kicking in properly? Might be worth a peek before things get worse.

Coolant level seems okay, and the fan is running. But how could a coolant leak cause transmission issues? Is there a connection I'm missing?

Yeah, it's weird, right? In my case, the coolant leak affected a sensor or something that talks to the transmission. Honestly, I'm no mechanic, but that was the explanation I got. The symptoms you describe are super similar. Since your coolant is fine, it might be a different issue, but I'd definitely get it checked by a professional ASAP. Could save you a lot of money in the long run.

Thanks! I took it to a workshop. You were right; it was a defective cable. Repair cost was 95€. All good now.
