Citroen C5 Brake Light Error

My 2012 Citroen C5 diesel is throwing up a brake light error at 172770 km. The lights aren't working, and the infotainment system is flagging a fault. Error memory confirms. I've checked the bulbs and fuses, all seem fine. Suspect the brake light switch itself, but curious if anyone has seen similar?

I have seen similar issues on other vehicles; automotive switch failures can be tricky. Before replacing the switch, have you considered a simple error during a recent maintenance event? Perhaps accidentally dislodging a connector near the brake pedal?

Good point. I did adjust the driver's seat recently; is the connector you're mentioning in that general vicinity?

It is plausible that the movement of the seat may have caused a connector to become loose or disconnected. I still recommend having the switch professionally tested.

Turns out you were spot on; the connector was indeed loose near the brake pedal. Reconnected it and all is well. No cost to fix!
