Citroen C6 Random Error Messages

I've got a 2022 Citroen C6 with a gasoline engine that's giving me some headaches. It's got about 97k km on it. Lately, I've been getting sporadic error messages and the error lamps light up randomly. Sometimes the audio and navigation systems just die, and the control units seem to freeze up. I checked the error memory, and there's definitely something stored there. Any ideas?

Sounds frustrating! Intermittent issues are the worst. When you say 'error memory,' are you pulling codes with an OBD-II scanner? And are these errors consistently related to the same modules, or is it a random assortment? Could be a power issue, or a CAN bus problem. Have you noticed any pattern, like after hitting a bump or during specific weather conditions?

Yeah, I'm using an OBD-II scanner. The errors seem pretty random, not tied to any specific module all the time. I haven't noticed any patterns with bumps or weather. What exactly do you mean by a CAN bus problem? And how would I even begin to diagnose that?

A CAN bus issue refers to a problem within the communication network that allows various electronic control units (ECUs) in your car to talk to each other. If a connection is faulty, it can cause the random errors and system failures you're describing. Given the symptoms and randomness, and without specialized equipment, it's tough to pinpoint the exact location of the fault. The cable connection of the control unit might be defective, especially the connection to the BUS system. Honestly, with those symptoms on a C6, I'd recommend getting it checked by a workshop. They can properly diagnose the CAN bus and pinpoint the exact cause before you start throwing parts at it. It will likely cost around 155€.

Okay, thanks for the detailed explanation! I was hoping it was something simple, but a CAN bus issue sounds like a real pain to troubleshoot without the right tools. I'll take it to a workshop and have them check it out. Appreciate the advice!
