Citroen C8 exhaust back pressure sensor fault

My 2007 Citroen C8 with a gasoline engine is giving me headaches. The exhaust back pressure sensor seems to be faulty. I've got a warning light blazing on the dash, and it's puffing out smoke like a chimney when I put my foot down. Any ideas what's going on?

I had similar issues with my C8. Same symptoms, warning light and smoke. It could well be the exhaust back pressure sensor, as it's a common issue on these cars. How many kilometers has it done?

Thanks for the quick reply! It's done 105852 km. Was it definitely the sensor on yours? And did it cause any other problems?

Yes, it turned out to be the sensor. At that mileage, it's quite likely. If it is that, you'll need to go to the workshop to solve it.

Thanks a lot! You were spot on. Took it to the shop, and it was indeed the exhaust back pressure sensor. Cost me 245€ to get it sorted. Appreciate the help!
