Citroen C8 ignition error

Thanks for the tip! Where exactly is the ignition switch relay located? I've been poking around, but there are a few different relay boxes, and I don't want to start pulling them at random. Also, how did you determine it was the relay specifically and not something else in the circuit?

Okay, so, from memory, it's in the engine compartment relay box - check your owner's manual. Honestly, I spent ages trying to trace the fault myself, checking wiring diagrams, etc. In the end, I gave in and took it to a local mechanic. Cost me about 95€ to fix, with a new connector and a new relay installed. They diagnosed it pretty quickly, after visually inspecting the wiring. Given your symptoms, and that I had a similar issue I would advise that you go directly to a workshop. They should be able to give you more pointers!

Thanks for the info. I ended up taking it to a shop, and you were spot on - faulty connector. New connector and relay, total cost was 95€. Appreciate the insight!

Sounds familiar. I've got a Citroen C8, although I can't remember what year. I had a similar problem a while back - car wouldn't start and kept throwing an ignition error. Have you checked the voltage at the ignition switch? A voltage drop there could point to a faulty relay or even the switch itself. It could also be a bad earth. Check the resistance to ground. I had this problem, my car would not start and it was simply the relay switch!
