Hey, thanks for your reply! It's good to hear that it solved the problem for you, but I'm just imagining how expensive it must have been.... Can you remember what you paid back then? And have there been any other problems with your car since then that could be related to the rail pressure sensor?

Hey, no problem, you're welcome! On the question of cost... I remember that I paid around €240 for the repair of the defective pressure sensor. Yes, that's not exactly cheap, but considering that my car has been running like clockwork ever since, it was well worth it. As for any other problems: since the mechanic fixed the issue with the faulty signal from the rail pressure sensor, everything has actually been fine. No other problems that could be related to this. So from my experience, I would say go for it and get it fixed. Your Citroen will thank you for it!

240 euros, hmm... Oh well, if it helps get the car running again, then I guess it will be worth the money. I'm glad to hear you haven't had any more problems since, that gives me some hope. I'll look for a garage tomorrow and hope it goes the same for me. Thanks again for your advice, that really helped me!

Hey, I had a similar problem with my 2011 Citroen C5. As you suspected, the problem was indeed with the rail pressure sensor. My car showed similar symptoms to yours, it was definitely not a small problem. The rough engine running and constant shutdown at idle are typical signs. After a few visits to the garage, they finally found the faulty pressure sensor and replaced it. It then worked smoothly again. I recommend you take the car to a trustworthy garage. They should be able to pinpoint the problem just like they did with my car. It's definitely an issue that needs to be fixed, so don't wait too long and get it checked out. Good luck!
