Citroen C8 Temperature Sensor Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2004 Citroen C8 diesel was experiencing issues related to the outside temperature sensor, causing errors, AC malfunction, frozen windscreen spray nozzles, and non-functional mirror heating. The suspected cause was a faulty cable or plug connection. After consulting with others who had similar experiences, it was determined that the problem was indeed a defective cable connection, which was resolved by replacing the sensor and repairing the connection.

Thanks! Where was the sensor located on your Saab? I'm trying to narrow down where to start on the C8 and if there are any vulnerable points in the sensor wiring that might be common.

On the Saab, it was behind the front bumper, passenger side, pretty exposed to the elements and road spray, hence the corrosion. Given your symptoms and the age of the Citroen, it's probably worth getting it properly diagnosed at a garage. A new sensor and wiring check shouldn't break the bank, but chasing electrical gremlins can be a nightmare.

Appreciate the insight. Dropped it into the workshop. The cable connection was indeed defective. New sensor and repair came to 95€. Sorted!

Interesting. I had similar gremlins in my old Saab 9-3. A dodgy temp sensor connection caused havoc with the climate control and even affected the fuel trim. Have you checked the wiring loom for any signs of damage or corrosion near the sensor?
