Citroen Ccrosser oil pressure warning
Summary of the thread
A 2008 Citroen Ccrosser exhibited an oil pressure warning light, with the oil appearing contaminated. The likely cause was exceeding the maintenance interval, leading to oil contamination and reduced pressure. The recommended solution was a thorough inspection and oil change, which resolved the issue, restoring smooth operation.

Okay, so the mileage is at 128288 km. The oil color is darker than usual, almost black, if that's useful? And what does exceeding the maintenance interval mean exactly? Is that super serious?

The mileage and oil color suggest that the maintenance interval has indeed been exceeded, potentially causing a build-up of contaminants in the oil. This can lead to reduced oil pressure and potential engine damage, especially for oil additives. Given the symptoms and the condition of the oil, I would recommend taking your Citroen to a workshop for a thorough inspection and oil change as soon as possible.

Thanks a lot for the advice! I took it to the shop and you were spot on, it was the exceeded maintenance interval. An oil change, new filter and some additives cost me 165€, but at least it's running smoothly again!

When engine oil becomes contaminated, it can cause issues with oil pressure and trigger warning lights. Several factors might contribute to this problem, including exceeding the maintenance interval. Could you please provide some additional details? What is the current mileage of your Citroen? Also, what does the oil look like? Is it discolored or sludgy?
