Citroen Ccrosser Temperature Gauge Issue

My 2012 Citroen C-Crosser diesel is acting up. The temperature gauge is erratic, the check engine light is on, and it takes ages to warm up. It has 84807 km. I read about a 'cooling grille restricted' message and a potential fuse issue. Could that be it? It’s like the car's got a permanent shiver!

I had something similar with my C-Crosser. Those symptoms sound familiar, especially the slow warm-up. Did you actually get a 'cooling grille restricted' message, or are you just suspecting that's what's going on? If you got that message you should definitely look at the grille and surrounding bits.

No specific message about the grille, just wacky temperature readings and the engine light. I only saw mention of the cooling grille thing online, like maybe the car thinks it's restricted? If it was the grille thing for you, what exactly was it? Did a sensor go haywire, or was it something physical blocking air flow?

Ah, right, no message. In my case, I'm pretty sure it was the same issue. I remember now: after some research I took it to the workshop and they fixed that for around 52€. I'd take it in; they'll sort you out. It's like when your computer starts acting up – sometimes you just need a professional to take a look.

Cheers! Sounds like a trip to the mechanic is on the cards then. Hopefully, it’s a similar fix and doesn’t cost me an arm and a leg. I really appreciate you sharing your experience; at least I have some idea of what to expect. Thanks!
