Citroen DS3 Boost Pressure Defect

Experiencing issues with my 2017 Citroen DS3 gasoline engine. At 205334 km, symptoms suggest a boost pressure system defect. Check engine light is intermittent, engine power is reduced with poor response. Engine has stalled while idling, and fuel consumption is higher. A whistling noise is audible, escalating to a loud hissing sound upon acceleration. Wastegate valve defect the likely culprit? Has anyone encountered a similar issue, and could offer diagnostic insights or potential components requiring inspection, such as the pressure sensor, throttle body, or MAP sensor?

Bloody hell, that sounds familiar! Had almost the exact same thing with my Saab 9-3 – check engine light, power loss, the lot. Though I didn't get the whistling and hissing combo, just a really annoying whistle. You reckon it's definitely the wastegate? Could be a dodgy sensor throwing things off.

The possibility of a faulty sensor had crossed my mind as well. Can you elaborate on the specifics of your situation with the Saab 9-3, particularly with respect to the symptoms you experienced and whether the diagnostic process revealed any anomalies beyond a malfunctioning wastegate valve itself?

Yeah, mine ended up being the wastegate valve in the turbo. It was sticking, causing the boost to fluctuate wildly. The garage said something about it being a common fault. Honestly, with all those symptoms you've got, I'd bite the bullet and get it checked out by someone who knows their stuff. Could save you a world of pain in the long run.

Based on your recommendation, I've decided to schedule a workshop visit to assess and rectify the issue. Repair resulted in a cost of 860€. Thank you again for your assistance.
