A defective connector, makes sense. Where was it on your BMW? Was it difficult to access? Wondering if the DS4 is similar, and if I could check it myself before a shop visit.

The connector in my BMW was in the door cavity, accessible after removing the door panel. Given the symptoms and similarities across vehicles, a qualified technician is best for diagnosis and repair. Based on experience the cable or plug connection of the component is most likely defective.

Thanks! Took it to a local garage, and you were spot on - faulty connector in the door wiring. New connector and all sorted for 95€.

I had a similar issue with my BMW 3 Series recently: keyless entry failing intermittently, with error codes. It was a defective connector in the door wiring harness. Did you check the plug connections?
