Citroen DS5 charge air temperature sensor fault

Hey, I've got a bit of a headache with my 2014 Citroen DS5, gasoline engine. It's got about 207k km on the clock. The check engine light is on, and it feels like the engine's lost a lot of power. Plus, there's this weird whistling, almost hissing sound when I accelerate. I had the codes read and it's showing an error related to the charge air temperature sensor. I've had a quick look and the only thing I can see is that the cable/plug looks a bit dodgy, could that be it?

Sounds familiar! I had a similar issue with my DS5. Not sure about the year, but it was the same engine. That hissing noise is a giveaway. A 'charge air temperature sensor' measures the temperature of the air entering your engine after it's been compressed by the turbocharger. The Engine Control Unit (ECU), uses this information to optimize engine performance and emissions. In my case, it was a bad connection to the sensor. Check those wires carefully!
