Citroen DS5 power loss ECU error
Summary of the thread
A 2018 Citroen DS5 diesel experienced a significant drop in engine power, accompanied by an ECU error code. The issue was suspected to be related to the ECU, but a similar case suggested that a faulty main relay could be the cause. After further investigation, it was confirmed that the main relay was defective, and replacing it resolved the problem.

Thanks for the info. Can you tell me more about how to check the main relay? I don't know much about car electronics, but I'm willing to look into it before going to a mechanic.

I'm no expert, but the workshop guys found it fast using diagnostics. They said something about inconsistent voltage readings to the ECU. Honestly, unless you're good with a multimeter and wiring diagrams, it’s best to let a professional check it. Could save you from frying something expensive!

Thanks for the advice. I had a mechanic inspect the main relay, and they confirmed it was defective. The repair cost 120€.

Hey, I had something similar with my DS5. Reduced power and an ECU error. Turned out to be a faulty main relay. Might be worth checking out before you go down the rabbit hole of full ECU replacement. Saved me a fortune!
