Citroen Jumper Camshaft Sensor Error

I'm experiencing trouble with my 2009 Citroen Jumper diesel. It's got 143773 km on the clock. Lately, it's been starting poorly and the engine power seems reduced. I also had the error memory read, and it shows an error related to the camshaft sensor. Could a defective cable or plug connection of the component really be the cause? Has anyone else encountered this?

I had something similar happen with my Jumper. Rough idling and occasional engine misfires. I remember seeing the check engine light on too. Was the error message specifically pointing to camshaft position?

Yes, the error message did specifically mention the camshaft sensor. The mechanic suspected it could be a simple sensor failure or perhaps just a bad connection. Your Jumper had the same symptoms? What was the fix in your case?

Exactly the same symptoms. I initially hoped it was a minor issue, but it turned out to be the sensor itself. After checking connections, I ended up going to the workshop and having it replaced. Cost about 95€. I suggest getting a professional opinion.

Thank you for sharing your experience. I suspected it might come to that. I'll take your advice and book it in for a proper diagnosis and repair. Hopefully, it won't be too expensive. It was exactly what it was: the camshaft sensor was defective, and the cable and plug connection of the component defective as well.
