Fluid level is good, I checked that right away. It's more than just a spongy feeling; it's almost like the pedal is pushing back against my foot. You mentioned your Corsa – did the brake fluid end up being the culprit, or was it something else entirely?

Nah, the fluid was fine in my case too. After checking the usual suspects like you did, I took it to a workshop. Turns out something was up with the brake assist system. Getting it looked at by a professional might be your best bet before you end up with a proper headache.

Thanks a lot for the advice! I booked it in to a local garage, you were spot on. They found a dodgy connection causing undervoltage, which was messing with the ABS. All fixed now, came to around 240€. Driving like new again!

That sounds familiar. I had almost the exact same thing happen in my old 2008 Opel Corsa. The pedal feel went all weird, like stepping on a sponge sometimes. Did you check your brake fluid level? Maybe start with the simple stuff before you chase electrical gremlins.
