Citroen Nemo Exhaust Smoke Loss of Power

I haven't noticed any recent DPF regeneration cycles. If the soot level were excessively high, would that definitively point to a faulty sensor, or could there be other contributing factors affecting the DPF's performance?

A high soot level doesn't necessarily mean a faulty sensor, but if the sensor is giving incorrect readings, it will definitely affect the regeneration process. With all the symptoms, and without proper diagnostic tools, it is difficult to pinpoint. Maybe it is best to take it to a workshop.

I took the Nemo to a workshop. They confirmed the exhaust back pressure sensor was indeed defective. The repair, including the sensor replacement and labor, amounted to 245€. The Nemo is now running smoothly again.

Those are definitely not good symptoms. Has the DPF regeneration kicked in recently, or has it been trying to regenerate unsuccessfully? Maybe the soot level in the DPF is too high, causing all of these issues?
