Citroen Nemo NOx Catalyst Aging and Exhaust Fumes
Summary of the thread
A 2014 Citroen Nemo with a gasoline engine displayed a check engine light, indicating NOx storage catalyst aging, and there was an unusual smell of exhaust fumes. The issue was suspected to be related to a leak in the exhaust system, possibly near the catalytic converter. A diagnostic at a workshop confirmed an exhaust leak, which was repaired, resolving the problem and turning off the check engine light.

Hissing, huh? I'll have to check that tomorrow. Where exactly should I be listening? I'm not exactly a mechanic, haha.

Around any of the joints in the exhaust system, especially near the catalytic converter. Honestly, though, with those symptoms and that error code, a proper diagnostic at a workshop is probably your best bet. Could be a cracked manifold or something.

Thanks! You were spot on. Took it to the shop, and they found a leak in the exhaust system. Cost me 265€ to fix, but at least the light's gone! Cheers!

Sounds familiar. I had similar symptoms with my 2016 Opel Astra, although the error code was slightly different. Do you hear any hissing noises near the exhaust when the engine is running? Could be a leak somewhere.
