Citroën SpaceTourer 2016: Problems with engine indicator light, black smoke and delayed cold start
(Translated from German)
Summary of the thread
A Citroën SpaceTourer 2016 with a diesel engine is experiencing issues such as the check engine light being on, black smoke from the exhaust, delayed cold starts, non-functioning DPF regeneration, and a persistent preheating light. The problem may be related to faulty glow plugs or a pre-glow relay. A similar issue was resolved by replacing the glow plugs, and it is advised to visit a garage promptly to prevent further damage.

Hey, thanks for your quick reply. My SpaceTourer is the 2.0 Blue HDi version. I have about 18060 KM on it now and the last service was about 2000 KM ago. The light that comes on is the yellow engine light. I think I'll follow your advice and visit the garage, although I hope there's nothing more serious to come. Keep your fingers crossed!

Hey, no problem, always happy to help! I had one just like that, the 2.0 Blue HDi version I mean. With my yellow engine light, it was definitely the glow plug. Your mileage isn't that high yet, so maybe it's not as much wear as mine, but I wouldn't bet on it. It's best to go to the garage as soon as possible so they can check whether it's really just the glow plug or perhaps something else. I was lucky, in my case it really was just the glow plug. And yes, I'll definitely keep my fingers crossed that it's nothing major. Keep us posted and good luck!

Hi there, I recently had exactly the same phenomenon with my 2014 Citroën Berlingo. Even though I'm rather clueless when it comes to cars, it was definitely the glow plug that was defective - my garage mechanic found this out. The wear was probably just too great. The repair costs amounted to 560 euros. To fix the problem, they simply replaced the glow plugs in the workshop. I think it's very important that you take your car to a garage as soon as possible before anything else breaks. Can you provide a little more information? For example, the exact model and which check engine light is illuminated? Then I might be able to help you more precisely. Good luck with it!
