City Hybrid Transmission Fault
Summary of the thread
A 2022 Honda City hybrid with 61096 km is experiencing transmission issues, including gearbox slippage, unclean shifts, and grinding during gear changes, accompanied by the check engine light and transmission indicator being on. Diagnostic tests suggest a potentially defective automatic transmission torque converter lock-up clutch. A similar issue was resolved by taking the vehicle to a workshop for professional repair, which confirmed the defect and required a costly repair. Seeking professional assessment and repair is recommended for resolution.

Could you elaborate on the specific issues you encountered with your Opel Astra and how the problem was ultimately resolved?

Yeah, it was exactly as you described - slipping, grinding, lights on the dash. Pretty sure it was the torque converter clutch in mine too. Eventually bit the bullet and took it to a workshop. Best bet is to get it looked at professionally. Is it still under warranty?

Thank you for sharing your experiences; it’s reassuring to know I am not alone in facing this issue. I took your advice and sent the car to the workshop. As suspected, the automatic transmission converter was defective, and it cost 2120€ to repair.

Sounds rough! I had similar symptoms with my old Opel Astra, although it was a petrol engine. Was the auto transmission slipping a lot? Mine was undriveable in the end.
